C Pointers Interview Questions and Answers

81. Define Pointers Arithmetic in C?

C programming allow programmers just like you to do arithmetic operations using pointers. So, programmers can perform any arithmetic operations using pointer variables. Performing arithmetic operations using pointer variables is said to be arithmetic pointer. Refer For More C Pointer Arithmetic

82. What is Pointers and Strings?

A String is a sequence of characters stored in an array. A string always ends with null ('\0') character. Simply a group of characters forms a string and a group of strings form a sentence. Refer For More C Pointer and Strings

83. What is Null Pointers?

C program defines the states that for each pointer type, When a pointer variable is declared and initialized either by a Null value or by 0 explicitly then the pointer variable is said to be null pointer. Conceptually a null pointer is a pointer that points nowhere, it doesn't have an address of any function or a variable , instead pointer is initialized with zero or null to indicate that this pointer variable is still unused. 84. What are the difference between NULL Pointer and Void Pointer?

Null Pointer Void Pointer
Null pointer is specially reserved value of a pointer. Void pointer is a specific pointer type.
Null pointer suits well for all datatypes. Void itself a datatype of size 1.
int, char, float, long, double are all datatypes are supported. void datatype is alone supported.
Null pointer is used for assigning 0 to a pointer variable of any type. Void pointer is used for storing address of other variable irrespective of its datatype.

85. What is Pointers to Functions?

A function pointer is nothing more than a variable that stores the address of a function. Once the address of a function is assigned to a pointer variable (function pointer), Then the respective function pointer can be used to access the function. Following simple program can clearly demonstrate the function pointer. Refer For More C Pointers to Functions
