Magnetic fields are generated by electric currents.
In 1823, A French physicist Andre-Marie Ampere invented and published a law called Ampere's law. Ampere's law states that the magnetic field created by an electric current is proportional to the intensity of that electric current. Magnetic field curl around the conductor, which carries the current. The direction of magnetic field around the conductor is given by Flemings right-hand rule.
