Tellegan's Theorem
In 1952, A Dutch electrical engineer Bernard D.H. Tellegen invented and published a theorem called Tellegan's theorem. Tellegan's theorem states that in an random lumped network, the algebraic sum of the powers in all branches at any instant is zero.
Limitations of Superposition Theorem
- Tellegan's theorem is valid for any lumped network, irrespective of a circuit is linear or non linear, active or passive, time-varying or time-invarient.
- Currents and voltages in all branches of a network must satisfy kirchhoff's laws
