What is meant by Voltage drop

A voltage drop is nothing more than a loss occur in the sending voltage.

What is meant by Static device

A device is said to be a static device when its performance cannot be altered once it is designed. E.g) Transformer.

What is meant by Dynamic device

A device is said to be a dynamic device when its performance can be altered easily even after its design is completed. E.g) Induction motor.

What is meant by Electrical isolation

An electrical isolation means isolating one circuit from another or isolating DC while maintaining ac continuity between two circuits. E.g) Transformer.

Why Transformer Rating in kVA

Copper loss in the transformer depends on current and iron loss on voltage. Hence, total transformer loss depends on volt-ampere (VA) and not on phase angle between voltage and current i.e) it is independent of load power factor. That is why rating of transformers is in kVA and not in kW.
