Flemings Left Hand Rule

A british electrical engineer Sir John Ambrose Fleming invented and published a rule called Flemings left hand rule. Flemings left hand rule is used to find the direction of rotation of the armature in a DC motor.

Explanation

Thumb finger represents the direction of motion or thrust. Index finger represents the direction of field. Middle finger represents the direction of current.
